REVIEW: Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller

The ONLY stroller you will ever need!!!

Hands down, I spent more time researching strollers than any other baby product before the birth of my son. While I only have one child now, I could not be happier with the City Select and am confident that I will never need to buy another stroller!

Here’s why:

-CONVERTIBLE: Yes, it is a double stroller – when you need it to be. For now, I have my son’s infant car seat clipped in and facing me. In the future, I will move him to the upright seat with a 5-point harness; in the more distant future, the stroller can accommodate TWO infant car seats, one car seat and one upright seat, or two upright seats. You can decide which direction you want each seat to face (meaning there are 16 different seat configurations possible!). You can even change the incline on your children’s seats. And if you find yourself with three little rascals in tow, you can also purchase a glider board that attaches to the rear of the stroller to let the oldest hitch a ride.

-COMPATIBILE: Baby Jogger has ensured that the City Select is compatible with nearly every infant car seat on the market. My son is in a Nuna Pipa, and the adapter was less than $30. His seat easily clicks in and out of the stroller, important since he falls asleep in his seat so often and removing his seat from the stroller doesn’t wake him.

-SMOOTH: The City Select is NOT a jogging stroller, despite being manufactured by Baby Jogger. It does, however, boast two 12″ “forever-air” rear wheels (they are filled with foam, rather than air, so they will never go flat) that tackle curbs and bumpy terrain like nobody’s business. The front wheels swivel 360 degrees, a necessity for maneuvering around tight corners. I live in Pacific Heights in San Francisco, and you can’t walk a block from my neighborhood without tackling one of the city’s infamous inclines. While this isn’t the lightest stroller on the market (28lb as a single and 34lb as a double), it glides up hills without much effort. And a walk in the stroller always lulls my baby to sleep!

-SLEEK: The aesthetics of the City Select attracted me initially before I knew much else about it. I love the simplicity of its design – it is entirely black besides the silver frame, with long, clean lines. It folds in half effortlessly and pops open just as easily. It has all of the features you need – i.e. a parking brake, adjustable handlebar height, UV canopy, and plenty of storage space below – and none of the ones you will probably never end up using (though many of these, such as a foot muff and cooler bag, are available for purchase as accessories).

Baby Jogger’s City Select is the first stroller I have owned and it will be my last! Its endlessly customizable design, smooth handling and sleek aesthetic make it the perfect stroller to grow with any family.
